In response, Michael has him committed. But this has the unfortunate side-effect of leaving him with three kids he has no business raising. Months later, Blake returns after some new medication and a round of shock therapy. Can these two lovebirds find their way back to each other? By now, the lights have flicked back on the party is officially over. Blake has developed a debilitating addiction to cocaine that impacts his, um, performances. Meanwhile, Michael has bent the knee to the rise of video and has resigned himself to churning out slop. But as bad as things are, when the two finally have a falling out, things only get worse. Can Blake find success outside of skin-flicks? Or will the prodigal son eventually come crawling back home?

“I like simple pleasures, like butter in my [REDACTED] and lollipops in my mouth.” Vintage Cinema Rewind is back for Paul Thomas Anderson’s grooviest period piece ever: Boogie Nights. Michael is a notorious porn producer with aspirations of creating genuine art. Meanwhile, Blake is a down-on-his-luck high school dropout with a can-do attitude and a certain endowment swinging between his thighs. When Michael discovers this talented young man, sparks fly and before long, their work is taking the industry by storm. But just how long can they escape the consequences of their own actions?

Things continue to unspool on Vintage Cinema Rewind. Blake and Michael are back with their Deep Dive on Robert Altman’s satirical masterpiece: Nashville! The whole city is in uproar as Barbara Jean’s mental health continues to deteriorate. Which is not to say that the rest of our cast of thousands is faring much better. Warnings are ignored. Affairs are plotted. Women are exploited. And all the while, that strange, greasy third-party politician is still consolidating his own power. As poor Barbara Jean is forced onto the stage, can the Bicentennial go off without a hitch? Will the American Dream finally sour? Or has it already long-since spoiled?

This movie strands us in the titular city with a cast of dozens. Some are at the top of their game. Others are desperately trying to break in. And still others are just trying survive in this chaotic city. But when singer Barbara Jean suffers a nervous breakdown, a power vacuum of sorts opens up. And who is this mysterious third party candidate who wants to harness her own star power for his own ends? 

The noose is tightening on Vintage Cinema Rewind. This week, they’re back with their Deep Dive on Terrence Malick’s stunning debut: Badlands! Blake and Holly continue to paint the countryside red. But as they leave a trail of carnage in their wake with no particular goal or destination in mind, a posse forms to hunt them down. Meanwhile, Holly begins to question both her relationship with herself and this gun-toting maniac who has led her on this seemingly endless joyride. Can they escape the authorities and live out the remainder of their days in harmony? Or will they both end up getting the chair?

Holly is a troubled teen with a dead mother and a father who just can't seem to relate to her. But her days of endless ennui are disrupted with the arrival of Blake--a handsome young greaser who reminds her of James Dean. Yet when her father disapproves of their relationship, the two of them are forced on the run across the country. Can they find their own little version of the American Dream? Or will more bullets start flying?

"Nothing more foolish than a man chasin’ his hat." Take a trip back to the Prohibition era with Vintage Cinema Rewind's Deep Dive on the Coen Brothers' neo noir classic: Miller's Crossing! Blake and Michael are on the outs after the former's love affair with Verna is revealed. This causes Blake to reconsider his priorities--and his job prospects. But in order to ingratiate himself to Johnny Caspar, he's got to pump off a certain Bernie Bernbaum. Can he squeeze the trigger? Or will he wind up chasing his own hat?

Blake is the concierge for Michael, the leader of the Irish-American mob during the Prohibition era. But rum running is the least of his problems. A rival crime lord has designs on Michael’s throne. What’s worse, Blake had been running around with Michael’s best girl. And the brother of said best girl is now embroiled in a web of conspiracies that threatens to consume the whole town. Can Blake lie, cheat, and steal his way out of this mess? Or has he finally run out of chips?

Things are getting Biblical on Vintage Cinema Rewind. And this week, they’re back with their Deep Dive on DreamWorks Entertainment’s dustiest vehicle, The Prince of Egypt. After years of dwelling in obscurity among his wife’s tribe as a simple shepherd, Blake stumbles across a burning bush. He’s then given a tall order: to return home and free his people. But this is hardly a victorious homecoming. For in his absence, Michael has become an iron-fisted pharaoh and proclaims that he will not let his people go. What follows is a battle of wills between two brothers chafing against the weight of their own legacies. Can they see eye-to-eye? Or will they instead demand an eye-for-an-eye?   

Get ready to wander into the sands of Egypt with Vintage Cinema Rewind. During this 2026 animation season, they’ve decided to tackle DreamWorks Entertainment’s maiden voyage: The Prince of Egypt! Blake and Michael are our titular royals, who spend most of their days running amok and challenging each other to obelisk-measuring contests. However, when Blake discovers his true heritage, he flees into the desert, promising never to return. But perhaps fate has other plans for these two brothers? Because every lost lamb is eventually found…

As Michael Scott once said: “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” Vintage Cinema Rewind takes to the ice on this week’s Deep Dive on George Roy Hill’s Slap Shot! Our least favorite team has reached the end of its rope. Michael has discovered that despite their truly inspired buffoonery, the team is still going to fold. Heartbroken, he decides to end his career the only way he knows how: by playing some good old-fashioned hockey! But he’s unable to convince Blake, his best player, to stand by his side. And their rival team? They have a few tricks up their sleeves themselves…

That’s right, it’s time for Blake and Michael to take to the ice in George Roy Hill’s Slap Hot! Michael is a down-on-his-luck player-coach for perhaps the worst team in the league. And to his horror, he learns that the team is about to fold. In desperation, he resorts to cheaper and cheaper tactics to drum up support. Meanwhile, Blake wants to play straight. Can they reach an understanding? Or will they both end up stranded in the penalty box?

Get ready for some more X-rated action! This week, Vintage Cinema Rewind continues with their Deep Dive on John Woo’s bullet-riddled cult classic: Hard Boiled! Blake has begun to unravel the vast and tangled conspiracy unspooling around him. Meanwhile, Michael has shot down his previous employer and has suffered a terrible price for his disloyalty. The two gunslingers then connect and concoct a plan to take down Johnny Wong once and for all. Can they oust this evil new crime lord from their city? Or will they all be made into paper cranes?

Today's eggs are served in boiling water! That's right, Vintage Cinema Rewind is back with John Woo's cult 90s classic: Hard Boiled! Blake is a loose canon cop on the edge who doesn't play by the rules but gets results. Meanwhile, Michael is a top assassin associated with the old guard of the city's seedy underworld. But a new power is looming on the horizon. And though on opposite sides of the law, Blake and Michael are forced into conflict with this remorseless new breed of criminals. Can they restore order? Or are their eggs cooked?

The centre truly cannot hold on Vintage Cinema Rewind. This week, the boys are back with their Deep Dive on John Boorman’s beautiful mess: Excalibur! Blake has discovered his wife’s adultery and has since renounced the mystical sword. As a result, both he and the realm are withering. He dispatches his Knights of the Roundtable to uncover the only thing that can restore them: the Holy Grail. But as his best warriors prowl the haunted lands, a new threat rises in the form of his own illegitimate son, Mordred. Can he rally his remaining knights for one final charge? Or is all of Britannia doomed?

Michael’s commanding officer has devolved into a state of violent paranoia. Meanwhile, Blake is still hunting down these assailants to prove himself as Khan. But when Michael is ousted and left for dead by his own unit, the two form an unlikely bromance. Can the two of them finally stop the Russian army? Or will they just start a middling podcast together?

“I NEED A WOMAN!” As Vintage Cinema Rewind leaves Oscar season in the dust, they set their sights on sandier shores. That’s right, they’re back with the oft-overlooked 1988 cult classic: The Beast! Michael is part of a Russian tank unit with too much blood on his hands. But when he and his men storm an innocent village and leave nothing but ruin in their wake, Blake—the local Khan—swears revenge.
